Planning Kennett Connections

The future of walking and biking between Kennett Square Borough, Kennett Township, and East Marlborough Township

Do you wish that you could safely walk or bike to more places in the Kennett area?  With funding from Chester County, local governments have teamed up to plan for new pedestrian- and bike-friendly connections in the region. This plan evaluates potential connections between key destinations in Kennett Township, Kennett Square Borough, and East Marlborough Township, including Longwood Gardens. The plan focuses on identifying potential sidewalks, trails, and on-road biking facilities in the following areas:

  • Eastern area: Connections to the Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway and the Route 52 Bikeway

  • Northwestern area: Connections to Unionville, Willowdale, and Unionville Road (Route 82)

  • Western area: Connections to downtown Kennett Square, Anson B. Nixon Park, and the Kennett Greenway
